Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey will soon be playable in virtual reality.
The VR modes will be made possible by using the Nintendo Labo: VR Kit on Nintendo Switch, which is available on April 12, 2019. The software updates required for VR will go live on April 25.
Super Mario Odyssey will add three new mini-missions for players to collect music notes and Coins, and will allow players to revisit the Cap, Seaside, and Luncheon Kingdoms in VR.
Switching on the virtual reality mode in Breath of the Wild only requires players to enter the menu and flip a switch. Players can use existing save files to experience VR in the game. Animated cutscenes will not be available in virtual reality.
Check out the new trailer for the VR modes below. More information about the kit can be found on Nintendo’s website.
