On July 10, Sega will reveal more details about its next Yakuza title, currently known only as Shin Ryu ga Gotoku.
In an interview with Gamebase.com.tw, series producer Daisuke Sato was asked whether main protagonist Kazuma Kiryu will appear in a future title. He explained, “At this time, that is not a question I can answer. On July 10, we will announce the supporting actress for the new title, as well as share the latest information on the new title, so please look forward to it.”
Back in March, Sega revealed that the new Yakuza title will star a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. The publisher also announced an audition for supporting actresses from age 20 and up to try out for the role of Kasuga’s partner. The chosen actress will be in the game, participate in promotional activities, and receive one million yen. More recently, the upcoming game’s director, Toshihiro Nagoshi revealed a few details about the new lead character and how he will differ from Kiryu.
The Yakuza series will receive a spin-off game, Judgment tomorrow. In OnlySP’s review, Amy Davidson called it a “highly polished, enjoyable experience for both new and old fans alike.” The full review is available here.
