On August 26, 2017, Yakuza Studio will host an announcement event in Tokyo, Japan, where the company plans to reveal at least one new title.

Yakuza Studio has remained tight-lipped about what players can expect. As reported by Siliconera, and mentioned previously here on OnlySP, Yakuza series general director Toshihiro Nagoshi hinted the event would include “numerous announcements.”

Japanese fans who follow the series on Twitter have a chance to win a seat at the reveal by following the studio’s Twitter account and retweeting the event announcement. Thirty lucky gamers will find themselves granted entry to the event at the UDX Theater in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Fans have until August 13 to retweet the announcement and enter the lottery in hopes of receiving an invitation.

The Yakuza series is an open world action-adventure game franchise owned and published by Sega. Inspired by Nagoshi’s desire to create a game depicting the way of life of the Japanese organized crime syndicates, the Yakuza franchise has sold over nine million units since its 2005 arrival in the gaming world. A critical and commercial success, the franchise has also expanded beyond the scope of video games to other mediums, including films, books, radio dramas, and merchandise such as clothing and action figures.

The next game in the series is Yakuza Kiwami, a fully-rebuilt version of the original game that includes new mechanics and story segments, which is scheduled to release exclusively on PlayStation 4 on August 29.
