Yakuza 6

Yakuza 6 just hit a huge milestone in the franchise’s history: for the first time, a Yakuza game sold just as well in the West as its Japanese release.

Yakuza 6 saw a extremely positive reviews from critics and is currently sitting at an 83 on Metacritic. According to Sega, the Yakuza series has now sold a total of 9.3 million units worldwide.

Yakuza 6 selling well in the West is both surprising and exciting for a number of reasons.

Not long ago, localization for the Yakuza series was something fans hoped for. Such strong sales worldwide will likely mean praying for Yakuza localization is now a thing of the past.

Recently, Sega announced a high-octane spin-off title in the Yakuza universe currently called Project JUDGE.
