Now on their second DLC, content for XCOM 2 is decisively more well rounded out than initial release (note though that unlike the base game, the DLCs are faired much more poorly in reviews). If you’re a big XCOM fan and the original $60 price tag was too rich for your blood, you can catch some nice savings on the PC Steam copy of XCOM 2 this weekend at GMG.

Well reviewed with more than 83% positive review in recent user reviews (and a solid 88 Metascore from critics at aggregator metacritic), the game continues the franchise with Earth now taken over by the alien invaders. Beyond the base model, the pricier Digital Deluxe is also on sale for 33% off (stacking with coupon brings it down to $40).

The discount from Green Man Gaming is fleeting and last only through the weekend. Both deals will expire on Monday June 6 at 8am Pacific time.

For an extra $8, we’ll skip out on XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe unless you’re a big XCOM fan. What’s included is only the base game, XCOM 2 Reinforcement Pack (essentially XCOM 2‘s Season Pass), and the digital soundtrack. While the Reinforcement Pack does add more content, as mentioned earlier the reviews are rather mixed so it a good idea to read through before you sink your hard earn dollars into this copy.

Note that while the Reinforcement Pack is listed at $20, you can pick up a copy at GMG for $16. If you’re planning to do that, you might as well get the XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe for $8 more.
