Prey Xbox Game Pass

As teased earlier this week, Xbox has announced the six new games making their way to Xbox Game Pass in April.

First up on April 11 is Prey and The Golf Club 2. In his review, OnlySP’s Marley Hannan praised Prey‘s “fantastic writing, intelligent casting, comfortably difficult combat, and several bits of innovative game development,” awarding it a Distinction (4/5).

The following week, on April 18, players will be granted access to Monster Hunter: World, which was nominated for eight awards during OnlySP’s Best of 2018 ceremony, including Best Game Design, Best Action Game, Best Role-Playing Game, and the coveted Best Game. New players will want to check out OnlySP’s Guidepost for Hunters series, where Matthew Falconer provides some advice for tackling the game’s biggest beasts.

Also coming on April 18 is The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. The third and penultimate season of Telltale Games’s The Walking Dead series, A New Frontier received high praise from OnlySP’s Cedric Lansangan, who awarded the game a Distinction (4/5) and stated that “Telltale has truly embarked on a new frontier in the gaming industry.”

The episodic titles continue on April 24, when players will receive Life is Strange 2: Episode 2, the latest episode in the sequel to the 2015 title Life is Strange. New players will have a chance to catch up on the series before the third episode releases next month, and they will also want to check out the free prologue, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, which OnlySP’s DJ Arruda awarded a Distinction (4/5) and described as “raw and beautiful.” Developer Dontnod Entertainment was nominated for Best Studio during OnlySP’s Best of 2018 ceremony for its work on the two games, as well as Vampyr.

Finally, on April 25, players will get access to Resident Evil 5, in which players control either Chris Redfield or his new partner Sheva Alomar. The game received positive reviews upon its initial release, so players will not want to miss this one.

Rhain discovered a long time ago that mixing one of his passions (video games) with the other (writing) might be a good idea, and now he’s been stuck in the industry for over six years with no means of escaping. His favourite games are those with deep and captivating narratives: while it would take far too long to list them all, some include L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption (and its sequel), Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Last of Us, and the Uncharted series.
