Single players are likely to have a better time with Wolfenstein: Youngblood soon, with the developers rolling out a series of patches to improve the solo experience.
Patch 1.0.4 is already available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with its headline addition being the ability to pause the game when in offline mode.
More significantly, patch 1.0.5 will focus on improving the overall difficulty, particularly as it applies to boss fights and bullet sponge enemies.
The patch will also increase the amount of special ammunition in difficult areas and add more checkpoints. For series purists, the patch will also enable to option to remove health bars from displaying above enemies.
Patch 1.0.5 is expected to be available on PC this week and the consoles next week, with the Nintendo Switch version being bundled in with 1.0.4.
The unfair difficulty spikes and lack of pause functionality were flagged as significant issues in OnlySP’s review of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and the upcoming changes should make the overall experience much more palatable. That review is available in full here.
