Within the Cosmos

The final stages of development seem to be proving troublesome for the ambitious sci-fi RPG Within the Cosmos, now suffering its third delay in a month.

As with the previous two, this latest postponement is to ensure that it releases “in the condition it was meant to release in” after five long years of development.

Whereas solo developer Francis Debois has heretofore set concrete launch dates, he is showing restraint this time and saying only that he now anticipates a September launch, but promises to “set a firm release date in the coming days/weeks”

Debois is currently focused on polishing the game and making some changes based on the response to the eight-minute gameplay trailer he released late last month (embedded below).

Within the Cosmos is a hugely ambitious indie project that takes inspiration from sources as diverse as Star Trek, Fallout, and Deus Ex. Much more information about it is available in OnlySP’s interview with Debois.
