Witchfire, the upcoming first-person shooter by The Astronauts, has a new gameplay snippet that shows off more of the game’s fluid and satisfying combat system.
The 12-second clip, embedded below, reveals two weapon types as well as a quick look at the game’s enemies. Primarily, the teaser is here to illustrate more of the project’s pacy first-person combat, which sees players gun down enemies with aplomb.
While the teaser is short, it is packed with little details. Most notably the affirmation that Witchfire will follow a hit-points system for damage, as well as the use of projectiles. Overall, verticality appears to be important during play, with enemies putting the onus on the player to evade upwards.
Eyebrows were raised when the developer stated that enemies “would feel like bulletsponges,” but if the short snippet is anything to go by, players have little to worry about.
What makes Witchfire‘s development of gameplay so alluring is the fact the game started as a survival sim. Now, though, the title looks a must-play for dark fantasy and first-person fans alike.
