The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most anticipated games of 2015, and for good reason. The first two games were critically acclaimed for their story, great characters, and creating a fantastic world to explore. However, while the third installment will be available to both PC and console gamers, some are probably in dark with regards to the game’s background.

The first game is exclusively on PC, so many console gamers couldn’t get a chance to get into the series until the second one was ported to the Xbox 360. If you are a PlayStation fan, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be the first time you can dive into this world.

Knowing all that, it makes sense to have a recap trailer to help inform those who are new to the series. The trailer explains how magic entered the world and how the Witchers are perceived by it’s citizens. It gives you a good idea of the world you will be stepping into when the games releases on May 19th. Check it out below:

    1. Yes, this will be my first experience with The Witcher series. I’ve stopped reading most posts & watching gameplay trailers – once I’ve decided that I’m going to try out
a game I like to have it as unspoiled as possible. This trailer was nice as it gave me some background on the series as a whole.

If it turns out half as good as expected, I’ll be having a blast in May!

      1. As much as I like the lore of The Witcher, I didn’t finish The Witcher 2 simply because I didn’t like the combat all that much. It just didn’t feel right..I guess.

From the sounds of it, most of that is fixed in The Witcher 3 so I’m really looking forward to it now, and I also love the much bigger focus on monster hunting.

The size of the world also amazes me and how little of it they’ve shown off. I feel like that’s a big miss in the marketing department, but on the other hand it’s avoiding spoilers so it’s smart.

        1. After putting 195 hours into DA: Inquisition, the size of Witcher 3 has me intrigued. As a semi-completionist (I’d like to find everything, but know I won’t) I just hope they have everything organized so that things don’t get frustrating.

          1. 195 hours?! Good lord. I have 30 hours in and I feel like I’ve put a lot in. Now I feel obsolete. “Sinks back into chair”

            1. No, don’t feel bad. I have an advantage – I’m bloody retired & loving it! :) I’ve also been replaying my favorite games that I had to “rush” through when I was still working. Put 135 hours into Suikoden III when I originally finished it in about half that.
