Way To The Woods

Solo developer Anthony Tan has released the debut trailer for his post-human adventure game, Way To The Woods.

The footage is brief, but shows off a handful of environments and gameplay moments from the project. Way To The Woods casts players as a deer, accompanied by a fawn, trying to find a way home while traversing empty cities and the remnants of a world void of humans.

Although seeming to be a straight exploration game, the title will feature some more typical adventure or action elements, including the need to escape from packs of wolves.

Tan has mentioned that inspirations for the title include the Studio Ghibli films Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, as well as Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. The 18-year-old developer has now been working on the project for two years, and currently expects to release it on PC in early 2019.
