If you’re a fan of popular MOBA-like games such as DOTA 2 and League of Legends, the brand new Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance may be right up your street as developer Eutechnyx is attempting to bring something new to the table.

Traditionally, Game Workshops’ Warhammer titles have been traditional, squad based real time strategy games (as well as the odd shooter, but we’d rather not talk about that) but in Storm of Vengeance, you play as either the Dark Angel Space Marines, who’re attempting to defend their planet from total annihilation or you can control the brute, overwhelming force of the Ork Waaagh! who want to claim the planet as their own in a straight up, line based MOBA style game. Each team is on either side of the screen, attempting to out-tactic the other and hopefully win the battle.

And if you’re into the whole crazy lore behind the Warhammer universe, it’ll also help you get your fix as it has a rather extravagant story, as detailed on its Steam page.

“Storm of Vengeance tells the story of a pivotal moment in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, during the legendary planetary conflict on Piscina IV. Featuring two of Games Workshop’s most cherished characters, Grand Master Belial and Ork Warlord Ghazghkull Thraka, Storm of Vengeance offers the player the chance to command the tenacious defense of the planet with only 100 Dark Angel Space Marines, or attempt it’s annihilation using the cunning of the Ork Waaagh! and their telly-porta technology. ”

Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance launches on Steam for £6.99 and the mobile giant iOS app store for £2.99.
