Skybound Games is taking over development for the remainder of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series.
Skybound’s announcement came via Twitter where it stated that it hopes to “wrap up Clem’s story right.”
For those unfamiliar with Skybound’s history, the studio is owned by Walking Dead co-creator, Robert Kirkman. The developer has experience with titles like The Long Dark, but also created a number of Walking Dead board games.
News of Telltale’s demise came at an inopportune time to say the least, as the studio was only two episodes in to The Walking Dead’s final season. After fan outcry, the studio stated that it would look into alternative options to ensure its flagship franchise would see a definitive end.
Now that the final three episodes are in the hands of a studio familiar with the license, a light is finally at the end of the tunnel.
