With the closure of Irrational Games, many fans were shocked as it just delivered the fantastic Bioshock Infinite. However, many of those developers have moved on to create a brand new studio, Day for Night Games, led by producer Joe Fielder. Their first game plans on bringing the unique style of a surreal story with allusions to their past games.

What is Black Glove?

Black Glove is described as a surreal first-person game where the protagonist must assist several talented members such as a musician, filmmaker and artist, by changing the past and present. Producer Joe Fielder has said that the main game will take place in an area known as the Equinox, a theater-like location that has similarities to the infamous Black Lodge dream sequences from the cult TV show Twin Peaks.

What is the Appeal of the game?

The new indie game is being developed by several key developers from Irrational Games, including the writing talent behind Bioshock Infinite and its DLC Burial at Sea. The game is very interesting as players will be able to influence the lives of these artists by changing the past. Players are also given complete freedom on how they wish to change the outcome of the game. Fielder gave a brief description on what type of experience fans can expect in the new game:

There are certain games of skill and chance that allow us to interact with what you might call ‘fourth-dimensional space.

When will more information be available?

Besides brief descriptions of the game and its setting, work on the game has just begun and a Kickstarter was planned to start in July, but it appears that has been delayed for the time being. So far the game is being planned to release on PC with developers such as Chad King who was the environmental artist on Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. Black Glove seems very ambitious and I am excited to see the results.
