Vampire: The Masquerade

A second Vampire: The Masquerade game is in active development alongside the hotly anticipated Bloodlines 2.

Few details about the game are available at present, though it is being helmed by The Council developer Big Bad Wolf. For now, all that is said about the project is that it “aims to define a new genre: the narrative RPG.”

The Council fit that mould also, marrying the story-driven adventure genre popularised by Telltale and marrying it to RPG-style character progression mechanics. On the release of that game’s first episode, OnlySP thought that Big Bad Wolf might become the logical successor to Telltale.

Whether this new Vampire: The Masquerade follows the same gameplay model remains to be soon, but more information is expected to become available at Gamescom in August.

The new game emerges from the extension of the partnership between Bigben and Paradox Interactive, which previously covered Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, which is set to receive new details at E3. All of these projects are a part of White Wolf Publishing’s move to bring the World of Darkness back into gaming.
