From the developers of the Slenderman horror title Slender: The Arrival, Blue Isle Studios, comes a new form of adventure named Valley: exploring a secluded region of the Rocky Mountains with an exo-skeleton.

Rather than plodding around a dark forest trying to find notes while avoiding a well-dressed phantom, you’ll be running with great speed and agility as well as leaping large distances around a well-lit land with the aid of your upgradeable exoskeleton L.E.A.F. (Leap Effortlessly through Air Functionality). All this to discover a secret hidden within an abandoned valley.

Although your tools aren’t just limited to exploring at a speed that would make walking simulators sweat nervously. You are also able to manipulate life and death, resurrecting or felling life to your whims. This will aid you as the location is rife with danger and your death probable. In case your mortality slips through your fingers, you are not simply told to go back to a save point or a checkpoint unaffected. Instead the more you must resurrect yourself from a premature death with your powers, the more the valley you’re exploring dies around you.

It is a relief to see that the developers haven’t simply buried themselves deep into a niche/pattern but are instead experimenting with the genre that brought them fame. Valley currently has a Summer 2016 release date for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam, with an unknown price tag.
