Alongside the game and hardware announcements at today’s Playstation conference, we also got a glimpse of the future of game engines. We saw Square Enix’s Luminous again, David Cage’s face, Capcom’s Panta Rhei, and, of course, Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. UE4 has been floating around the internet since being announced all the way back in 2005. We had to wait until GDC 2012 to see it in action, however, and we were all rather wowed by the realtime showing they presented.

Today, we got another video of Unreal Engine 4 in action, running on a Playstation 4. The Elemental trailer shows off some of the enhanced lighting, particle, and translucency effects, pitting fire against ice in an epic battle. Watch it below to see what Unreal Engine 4 is capable of on the Playstation 4.
