Gamescom is right around the corner, with most of the major publishers having already announced that they will be bringing previously unrevealed games to the show. Ubisoft is no exception to this, but it now seems that their surprise has been spoiled. It was previously alluded to as a new next-gen IP that is currently in development and, if recently discovered domain registrations are any indication, we now have a name: The Fighter Within.

Fusible reports that Fighter-Within.com and FighterWithinGame.com have been registered via GoDaddy’s proxy service, meaning that the actual registrant’s name is unavailable, however typing them in redirects the user to a page with only the words ‘cOMING SOON‘, with .ubi in the URL, indicating that it may be tied to Ubisoft.

Further to this, the title has also appeared on the LinkedIn profile of Kaycie Chase, a French voice actress who has also worked on Might and Magic, Rayman: Raving Rabbids and Mars: War Logs for Ubisoft.

Whether or not The Fighter Within is indeed the title of the new game, it will be interesting to find out just how closely it aligns with the rest of Ubisoft’s next-gen offerings in terms of openness and online connectivity, or whether it takes a different approach entirely. We’ll find out in less than a week, as Gamescom runs from the 21st to the 25th of August.
