Ubisoft may have insisted The Division has poor quality on PlayStation 4 thanks to a strange business deal.

Business is necessary, though, according to VG247’s sources, Xbox may have cut this deal with Ubisoft in poor taste.

“On The Division, Xbox had a deal with Ubisoft, and part of that deal was to ensure that the PS4 version did not look better than it. The resolution, frame rates, and density of assets could have been higher on PS4, but this was vetoed to prevent issues with Microsoft.”

The words from the VG247 source are troubling to say the least. Though The Division is in the rearview mirror at this point, the fact that this Xbox deal may have been done before is concerning.
