Twin Mirror, the upcoming psychological thriller game by DONTNOD Entertainment, will be episodic.
The title takes place in West Virginia, as players assume the role of Sam, an investigative journalist who travels home for a funeral of an old friend. On arrival, Sam falls unconscious, waking with a bout of amnesia.
Sam must bounce between reality and a place known as The Mind Palace to figure out what happened. In both states, Sam is followed by a voice known as The Double, whose allegiances are unknown.
Twin Mirror will be split into three parts, with a 2019 release date. The first part, aptly titled “Lost on Arrival”, will likely deal with Sam’s immediate amnesiac state. DONTNOD has had a busy 2018, releasing Vampyr and The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, the latter of which is a prequel to the upcoming Life is Strange 2.
