Borderlands 3

Troy Baker has no plans to join the cast of Borderlands 3, at least as a fan favorite character from Tales from the Borderlands.

During a panel at Melbourne convention Supanova, a fan asked Baker if he would be reprising the role of Rhys. For those unfamiliar with the spin-off character, Rhys was one of the protagonists of Telltale’s short-lived Borderlands series.

Baker actually had quite a few thoughts on the matter, as he was not informed he would not return to play the character until he saw Rhys’s quick appearance in the Borderlands 3‘s debut trailer.

“I really want Gearbox to know that if they are going to bring back characters from Tales from the Borderlands, it should be with the people who originated the characters. They should not recast willy-nilly because, as a fan, that matters to me.”

Gearbox has yet to confirm who will take up the hero’s mantle or what Rhys’s role is in Borderlands 3.

Michael fell into the OnlySP team toward the end of 2017. You’ll mostly catch his work over in the news area, but that doesn’t mean he won’t dip into the features section every now and then. For him, gaming doesn’t get much better than Metal Gear Solid and Super Mario Sunshine. Though he is a die-hard Nintendo fan, he grew up on PlayStation.
