Age of Wonders: Planetfall

To begin Paradox Interactive’s PDX Con this weekend, Overworld development team Triumph Studios has announced its latest project, Age of Wonders: Planetfall.

The game is set in a sci-fi future, with humans beginning from a post-apocalyptic planet. As with previous games in the series, Planetfall will be a turn-based 4X game, though it will be taking a new direction by having players raise a new civilisation from the remnants of a previous one.

Within the lore, a conglomeration called the Star Union fell apart long before the game begins, leaving multiple factions to fight over what remains. The title will feature planetary procedural generation and entirely new systems and technologies to power the new era.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is scheduled for release on PC and consoles in 2019.

More details will be available later today, when the developers take to the PDX Con stage for an interview and Q&A session.
