Sly Cooper fans will have to wait a little bit longer for the full-fledged return of the rascally raccoon as Sony has today confirmed that his latest adventure, Thieves In Time, has been pushed into February 2013, as evidenced by the official GamesCom trailer embedded below. The reason for the delay was given that there is simply enough quality content slated for the holiday release season, and at least some should be reserved for the period following it. It’s a tad disappointing, but will give the developers at Sanzaru Games a few extra months to polish the game to its utmost potential.

In addition to this, the game has been announced to be among the first to support Sony’s new Cross-Buy promotion, meaning that they will receive a free copy of the game to download on the Vita if they purchase it on the PS3, or vice versa. Thankfully for the lucky American gamers out there this delay will not affect the inclusion of a demo for the game in The Ratchet and Clank Collection to be released later this month.
