Time has moved on. Power has shifted. New greed replaces the old.
But to remain free in The City of chains – that is still the greatest prize.
First I stole to survive… then I survived to steal.
I am one man; I hear your secrets, see your hidden truths.
I am the shadows, the dark and deadly, the velvet night. You will not see me coming.

I am Garrett….What’s yours is mine.

  1. Is it Thief, or Thief 4? I feel like they keep going back and forth with that. I know there are websites for both possible titles. Anything officially confirmed either way?

    1. It’s confirmed to be a reboot, simply titled Thief. It’s just that a lot of publications are still confused about that and think it’s Thief 4.

  2. I can’t help but find that mini-monologue in the trailer to be awkwardly written.

Some say it’s in the planning, some say it’s in the timing, other say it’s in the ability. For him, it’s a way of life.

Err… what? What does that have anything to do with the prerequisites to steal? It can also be a way of life for someone who plans or times or whatever. You didn’t tell us what makes you so good at stealing, Garrett! You just told us that it’s a successful lifestyle for you, which is the RESULT of you being so good at it.

Yes, I’m nitpicking, but I don’t care. I’m a huge fan, and I feel like I’m already on shaky ground here.

    1. What I got out of that monologue was that while others need to spend time planning or focus on getting the timing just right, this kind of thing has become second nature to Garrett. So strictly speaking, he still works on plans and focuses on timing, but to him, it’s not a checklist of things he must consider before going on a mission. It’s as natural to him as breathing.

      Just my two cents.
