The Lion King and Aladdin

The Lion King and Aladdin retro rereleases just got packed with even more nostalgia.

Nighthawk Interactive and iam8bit announced that they will be releasing a few collectors editions for the Disney classics. These retro editions come with a number of goodies for those looking to relive the good old days of classic gaming and each have varying prices and contents.

For starters, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive Retro Editions (above) retail for USD$49.99 and come with retro packaging, a one-of-a-kind poster, a retro gaming manual, and both The Lion King and Aladdin. The only difference between the two versions is the box types buyers can choose between: a SNES-style case and a Sega Genesis-style case. Best Buy pre-orders for this slightly pricier version start today and will be shipped out on December 10.

The two Legacy Editions (above) are priced at USD$99.99 each and come with a buyer’s choice of either a playable SNES or Sega Genesis cartridge. If players happen to own either retro console, they will be able to use them to play these translucent, glow-in-the-dark cartridges. Though these versions offer more retro goodies like custom covers, premium instruction booklets, and other “retro pack-in surprises,” these versions only seem to come with either The Lion King or Aladdin—not both, as in the regular edition. Still, collectors may not ever see another nostalgic gut-punch like this for quite some time considering only 4,500 of each version are being made. The Legacy Editions go up for pre-order on at 6 p.m. BST today but will not be shipped out until 2020.

Those looking to just pick up the standard versions of the bundle for both The Lion King and Aladdin will only have to pay USD$29.99. This standard edition launches for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 29.
