Swery65’s beleaguered daily-life RPG, The Good Life, has successfully passed its crowdfunding goal via Kickstarter.
With a little over two days remaining of the campaign, the title has acquired the full JPY¥68,000,000 (approximately USD$620,000) required for it to enter full production. As such, the development teams at White Owls and G-Rounding will now begin working towards the project’s targeted release window of Q3 2019.
However, the teams recently announced a stretch goal to bring the game to Nintendo Switch if the funding tally reaches ¥88,000,000 (approximately $802,500).
The success has been hard-won for Swery and his team, who previously took the project to Fig, where it fell far short of its funding target.
For those interested, The Good Life casts players as Naomi, an American journalist aiming to pay off her debts, who finds herself in a sleepy English town where the inhabitants transform into cats and dogs by night. Making the situation more dramatic, a murder has recently taken place, and Naomi becomes involved in trying to solve it.
