After days of scarce communication, Telltale Games has stated that the final season of its Walking Dead series may yet see its definitive end.
Recently, a handful of ex-Telltale confirmed that the final season of The Walking Dead would end with the second episode. Before Telltale announced it would soon be shutting down, the company planned to release four episodes for the final season four, with the first two now available.
However, Telltale released a statement today explaining how the series could potentially continue.
“Multiple potential partners have stepped forward to express interest in helping to see the final season through to completion. While we can’t make any promises today, we are actively working towards a solution that will allow episodes three and four to be completed in some form.”
To say this news is a silver lining would be quite the understatement. Two days ago, fans believed series-star Clementine would never get to see the end of her story. Now, some hope exists for fans. However, some games industry figures, including God of War director Cory Barlog, have called out the studio to say that the retrenched staff members should first receive severance pay before funding is diverted to further development.
