A new trailer has been released for the highly-anticipated The Witcher 3 expansion Blood and Wine. The teaser trailer gives a brief glimpse into the expansion and more importantly gives us a release date. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine will release on May 31, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Blood and Wine will take place in the land of Toussaint, a colourful and vibrant country that has been unblemished by war, thus far. Toussaint is modelled after Southern France and the Piedmont area of Italy, this new landscape will be roughly the size of all the Skellige islands put together and will be littered with flowers, vast mountain ranges, and rivers.
The main plot of Blood and Wine will follow witcher Geralt as he tries to solve the mystery of an unknown beast that is terrorising the kingdom.
Blood and Wine will reportedly be Geralt’s last voyage as a witcher and will include over 90 new quests and 30 additional hours of gameplay.
According to CD PROJEKT RED Game Director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz the game will also include a massive amount of new features. Including a new Gwent deck, new endgame mutation mechanics, and even a place Geralt can call home.
One of the more interesting features of Blood and Wine is the introduction of a dynamic Point of Interest system. If Geralt interacts with an areas main point of interest, it will affect adjacent points of interest. For example if Geralt attacks enemies in their main hideout, all adjacent enemy camps will be reduced in number.
