Why didn't you tell me that there were new The Last of Us screenshots?!?!?

I guess it’s not really a surprise to those who have been paying attention, but Naughty Dog, specifically via Playstation’s Twitter (which I sourced both the above pic and thumbnail for this post from), has posted new screenshots of multiplayer combat in their upcoming action-adventure-survival-horror mashup, The Last of Us. Click on this to view the Facebook album.

Posted on Facebook , the new screens are pretty coy with new information. Only one really shows the HUD (at least from what I can see). On that note, I’ll leave it to you to speculate amongst yourselves, but knowing Naughty Dog, this game (SP and MP) is definitely not one to miss.

Most of you OnlySP’ers out there are probably already familiar with TLOU, but for those who aren’t (and shame on you if you aren’t), the game takes place sometime in a near-future post-apocalyptic America ravaged by a fungus that essentially turns whatever lifeform it possesses into “zombies,” including, surprise surprise, humans. “Infected,” as Naughty Dog so affectionately name these infected humans, now roam the decaying and dilapidated American streets, slowly becoming more and more deformed as the fungal infection progresses. Joel, an every-man now hardened by struggling to survive in this new America, has been tasked with safely transporting a young girl named Ellie from the East Coast to the West Coast for reasons we’ll find out when it releases June 14 exclusively on Playstation 3. I believe TLOU is also slated for PS4 release, but don’t quote me on that (I might be mixing it up with the plethora of other PS3 games with a not-too-distant companion release on PS4, like Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag).

To put in a bad one, seriously, don’t be the last to get in on the sure-to-be-a-best-seller The Last of Us!!!
