Superhot, 2016’s novel first-person shooter success, looks to be getting additional content in the form of a Japanese-themed experience.

News from the Superhot team on what is next for the popular tactical-shooter has been sparse, but now comes confirmation that a different studio, by the name of GameTomo, will be taking up the reigns.

For now, the standalone experience has been given the simple title of Superhot JP with a new name expected to be given at a later date.

“Battle the red guys in a variety of new Japan-inspired environments, from hot springs to samurai castles, from seedy Tokyo alleyways to karaoke bars and bullet trains,” the Toyko-based developer wrote on the game’s page. “Escape the ‘real world’ and into the mysterious reality of the new Budd-OS.”

For now, all that is known is the setting and developer with new information set to arrive in the coming months.
