After its full release out of early access on December 4, Subnautica is free for two weeks until December 27 on Epic Games’s new Epic Games Store.

The move by the Fortnite developer is no doubt an effort to push its Steam competitor, promising one free game every two weeks, the next being Super Meat Boy on December 28.

Best described as a unique underwater survival game, Subnautica received considerable praise during its early access phase as indie developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment consistently improved the game with regular updates. The game is certainly worth its usual price of $25, but even more so when free.
