A release date for the third title in the Styx series has been announced for Q1 2017 according to Cyanide Studio CEO Patrick Pligersdorffer.
Styx: Shards of Darkness continues on the adventures of dirty little goblin thief Styx. Since the prior game, new abilities have been added. One example of this is crafting, allowing you new ways to traverse the terrain and stealthily murder the residents of the land. There is also the promise of an increase in fluidity and climbing abilities, giving you more routes to your objective. These give you the option to be the dagger that kills all in your way one by one, or become a mere trick of the eye and slink past unheard and unseen.
In addition, Pligersdorffer mentioned that Styx: Shards of Darkness represents an engine update from Unreal 3 to Unreal 4. While this includes new added gameplay features, there is also a graphical upgrade from Styx: Master of Shadows. Both parts can be seen in the new gameplay trailer, showing Styx breaking into a harbor to change a register.
Styx: Shards of Darkness will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
