Sable, the narrative-focused exploration game by Shedworks, showed off a new pre-alpha trailer at E3.

Sable is a desert exploration game, which forgoes combat in favour of rewarding lore and story. The player will take the role of a young woman named Sable as she ventures to explore a world littered with massive architecture and fallen space ships. Along the journey, she will learn more about the people, culture, and history of the world she inhabits.

The art style is entrenched in the clear line style of French and Belgium comics, along with the Japanese animation, most notably Studio Ghibli. The developers have spent considerable time working on the rendering engine, which attempts to mirror the same sense of wonder evoked when watching a Ghibli film.

The trailer’s music is a new single by Japanese Breakfast, who will soundtrack the entire project.
