Star Wars: Battlefront II

A blog post on the official Electronic Arts website announced the company plans to show a new trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter Star Wars: Battlefront II (SW: BF II) at this month’s Gamescom conference.

In addition to the never-before-seen trailer, a live gameplay debut of the game’s new and improved Starfighter Assault mode will pit two teams against each other in an epic dogfight over the Imperial shipyards of Fondor. In the shadow of a great Star Destroyer, brave warriors of the Rebel Alliance will battle for their freedom against the oppressive hand of the Imperial Navy. Gamers can watch both the trailer and the gameplay debut via livestream by visiting on August 21, 2017 at 9:30 AM PDT.

Showcasing nimble fighters, lumbering bombers, distinct hero ships, and more, the gameplay demonstration is intended to give the world a first glimpse at Star Wars: Battlefront II’s improved, enhanced, and revised starfighter combat system. Promising superior controls over the original as well as deeper customization, the new starfighter combat also adds role-based team play featuring an all-new class-based system.

SW: BF II is the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront, a first-person shooter that puts gamers in the thick of battle, fighting on the side of the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire. Scheduled for release on November 17, 2017, SW: BF II offers gamers the single-player campaign absent from the original, and features settings from all the different eras shown in the beloved Star Wars film franchise. In another break from the precedent set by the 2015 game, SW: BF II will do away with the season pass paid content, and instead offer all downloadable content free to players who have an EA account.
