According to sources related to Kotaku UK, Activision is currently working a remaster of the beloved Spyro trilogy.

Laura Kate Dale, who was responsible for breaking the massive Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle leak last year, wrote that the Spyro re-release will be formally announced in March 2018 for a release in Q3 2018, whilst hinting that September is the likeliest month.

The remaster will reportedly have new assets, lighting, models, a remastered soundtrack, and brand new cinematics. The remaster will contain Spyro the Dragon, Riptos Rage!, and Year of the Dragon. The project is rumoured to be a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4 before being ported to other systems in 2019.

The re-release will be developed by Vicarious Visions, the same studio that made the immensely successful remaster Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy that released last June.
