Ready for a return to World War II? Not in real life, silly; a musical return, rather. Today’s track, from the upcoming strategy game Company of Heroes 2, is certainly a feast for the ears.

The track, simply titled “Main Theme”, can be heard below. A poignant mixture of violins, drums, trumpets and a choir, it aims to create a vast portrait of the era’s conflict in Eastern Europe. The choir in particular evokes a sort ‘Soviet’ feel with its deep yet rising vocals. Let us know what you think!

The theme was composed by Cris Velasco, who has provided music for games like God of War III, Mass Effect 3, Prototype and Zombi U, among others. You can check out his site, Monarch Audio, over here.
