It’s time to unearth a truly hidden gem for today’s Soundtrack Spotlight. This one is from Sega and Smilebit’s fantastical 2003 rail shooter, Panzer Dragoon Orta.

Titled “Altered Genos” and accompanying the level of the same name, the piece is a whimsical wind instrument extravaganza that gives off a sense of carefree exploration and natural discovery. The level itself takes place along a jungle river teeming with wildlife, making it all the more fitting. Have a listen below and let us know what you think!

The track was composed by Saori Kobayashi and Yutaka Minobe, who are known for their work on Sega titles like Space Channel 5, Sonic Heroes, Skies of Arcadia and Nights Into Dreams, among others.
