Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts will be single-player only at launch according to developer CI Games.
CI Games wrote in a Twitter post that the team’s focus “has always been […] to deliver a tactical, single-player FPS”. However, the studio promised that multiplayer options would be available via a patch coming in December.
In Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts players will take a sandbox approach to executing key targets. Each region contains kill contracts whereby players can forge their own path in deciding how to dispose of targets.
Several new accessories pack players’ arsenals such as a pilotable scout drone, special bullet types, and integrated binoculars with a built-in recon system connected to an augmented reality mask.
OnlySP’s Michael Cripe noted that the title borrows gameplay elements from the Hitman series, but thought it did not offer enough originality in his preview, saying: “Unoriginality plagues the game at every mountainous corner, but most fans will likely not care at all. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is not pushing to redefine the industry, but, rather, redefine itself.”
Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts releases on PC, PS4, and Xbox One November 22, 2019.
