Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts will feature a robust dismemberment system to provide some spectacularly cinematic kills.

With this feature, the game seems to be targeting the much-discussed x-ray function of its primary competitor, the Sniper Elite series. However, the team is putting its own spin on the gory, sometimes comedic mechanic.

The developer, CI Games, wrote on Twitter that the feature was added in response to fan requests: “Many realistic shooters these days don’t have dismemberment. We don’t understand why. […] Our fans have been asking for it. The tech allows for it. We’ve listened and added it.”

The team has also released a gif of the feature in action, utilising the series’s trademark kill cam:

OnlySP’s Michael Cripe went hands-on with Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts at E3 earlier this year, finding that the decision to borrow from Hitman‘s bespoke level approach redefines the series to “keep the dream of the ultimate sniping experience alive.”

The game will release on November 22 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
