The next generation of consoles is here! Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have launched, and we will have our reviews of the games as well as our impressions of the consoles soon. In the meantime, here’s the review of the week.

Editorials, News, and Reviews

In terms of editorials, we have a few from the past week. Nathan Hughes asked what you think of single player and multiplayer connected games. I talked about how trophies and achievements affect gaming. Damien Lawardorn had a Lawless Perspective on Gone Home. Our newest writer, Stephanie Muscari, wrote of an awesome horror game that you might have missed. Lachlan Williams’ Only Speaking Professionally explained his view on the console wars and their selling one million units on day one. Finally, David Nelson ranted about how cross-gen games shouldn’t last long on the Friday Night Rant.

As for reviews, we have reviews for the Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet, Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus, WWE 2K14, and The Art of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Here is the news from the week. There are rumors of a Tomb Raider for PS4 and Xbox One announcement this December. Also, Final Fantasy X/X-2 has received a release date for March 2014. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes got an English walkthrough for its gameplay segments. Finally, a new Uncharted game for PS4, The Last of Us single player DLC, and InFamous: Second Son‘s release date were all announced.
