Focus Home Interactive GreedFall

Focus Home Interactive has announced record revenues this year due to the success of A Plague Tale: Innocence and GreedFall.

The publisher confirmed that both games outperformed expectations in a press release. Focus Home Interactive reported that within the first six months of the 2019/20 fiscal year, revenue was EUR€79.8 million. This represents an 80% increase compared to the same period last year.

Jurgen Goeldner, an executive at the publisher, credited the growth to strong single-player game launches, which performed better than expected.

“After the successful launch of World War Z and A Plague Tale in the first quarter, the Group’s positive momentum continued in the second quarter, mainly driven by the successful release of GreedFall,” said Goeldner.

OnlySP’s Amy Campbell reviewed A Plague Tale: Innocence, giving it a Distinction saying, “the prologue does an exceptional job of presenting a colourful, stunning world as it descends into the dark chaos of plague that highlights the grim tone that pervades the game.”

  1. Just finished GreedFall a couple of days ago. What a brilliant game! I hope Spiders is as successful with Bigben as they’ve been with Focus.

  2. Greedfall isn’t a AAA game. Felt a lot more like a PS3.5 game than a PS4 game in most ways, despite the PS5 coming out a year from now. That being said, it was an enjoyable experience and I really hope that the devs now have the money available to make a bigger, better RPG for the PS5 in a few years.

  3. Very happy for this publisher, although I think GreedFall has been one of their weakest games lately. I enjoyed Plague Tale, and even Call of Cthulhu, far more than I enjoyed GreedFall.
