The KickStarter backed independently developed platformer, Shovel Knight, will be coming to the Wii U and 3DS  for North Americans on June 26th 2014. The European release date and the PC, Mac, and Linux versions will come at a later date.

Shovel Knight is an 8 bit platformer inspired by the likes of Dark Souls, Megaman, and Castlevania. In classic fashion, it is up to you as the knight to save his lost beloved and defeat the Enchantress. To stop you foiling her plans, the Enchantress has the Order of No Quarter, a group of knights who have varied abilities and gameplay elements. In a similar vain to the Megaman series, you must defeat these bosses one by one to continue your journey.

Shovel Knight will be coming to North America on June 26th 2014 for the Wii U and 3DS. The European release is not currently scheduled but when the PC version is completed, the worldwide release date will be the same.
