Sega has announced a package remaster of the original two Shenmue games during a recent Twitch live stream.

Shenmue I & II is planned for launch in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC; the console versions will be available both physically and digitally, while the PC version of the game will only see a digital release through Steam.

The original Shenmue launched on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000, while the sequel launched in 2002. Both have remained as cult classics and are no doubt a staple in Sega’s game catalog. Sega announced the return of the franchise in the form of Shenmue III at E3 2015, though the project only currently exists as a Kickstarter project. The remastering of the original two games will likely serve as an entry point for many fans who are excited to see what the action-adventure franchise has to offer.
