shenmue 3

Despite closing in on a late Summer release and years of build up, Shenmue 3 has been pushed back.

Announced by publisher Deep Silver and director Yu Suzuki today on the game’s Kickstarter page, the third entry in the Shenmue series has seen a four month delay. The game will now release November 19, 2019.

The announcement was followed by a few words explaining the cause of the release date change.

“Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished.”

The post goes on to say that the extra time will help the final project be the “true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve.” Shenmue 3 has been in development since its announcement in 2014.

Most recently, fans found out the third entry in the Shenmue series was aiming to deliver minimal load times.

Shenmue 3 is now scheduled to launch November 19 for PC and PlayStation 4.
