For those who doubted the Shakedown: Hawaii team’s decision to release on the PlayStation Vita, which includes a physical edition, now may be the time to reconsider.
Albeit a small number of units, Shakedown: Hawaii has sold all 4,800 physical copies of the game that were shipped for the PlayStation’s out-of-production handheld.
In OnlySP’s recent interview with Brian Provinciano, lead developer behind Shakedown, he expressed his passion for the Vita:
“As a player, I love the Vita. The Vita Slim refined it, and it’s the perfect form-factor to me. I hope to continue supporting it as long as there’s still an audience.”
Sony stopped making games for the PlayStation Vita in 2015 and ended its production entirely in March of this year.
Though it officially launches in just hours, you can pre-purchase Shakedown for PC now via the Epic Games Store. Despite a Steam page existing since 2018, Vblank Entertainment has announced Shakedown will be sold for PC exclusively through Epic Games’ new store.
As for consoles, Shakedown‘s Switch eShop page is live, and Vblank has announced that the PlayStation 4 and Vita (digital) editions support Cross-Buy and Cross-Save.
