In an effort to increase the already-skyrocketed levels of excitement towards Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Monolith gave IGN a look at the game’s improved Nemesis System.
The upgraded system features more in-depth strategy than that of its predecessor in Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. The new system adds the ability to destroy banners and other tactical assets belonging to the player’s enemies, such as the banners seen in the trailer below. Unlike the previous game, players can also build up their own army and implement different tactics to assaulting an enemy fortress when they decide to tackle killing an overlord.
Rather than reading about all the new additions, however, view them personally in the trailer below.
Shadow of War is the sequel to 2014’s Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of War is scheduled to release on August 22, 2017 in North America and August 25, 2017 in Europe. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Monolith Productions is the developer behind the title while Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will handle publication and distribution.
Monolith Productions was founded in 1994 by Brian Goble, Garrett Price, Paul Renault, Toby Gladwell, Brian Waite, and Jace Hall. The company is a subsidiary of Warner Bros., a subsidiary of Time Warner.
