Shadow of the Colossus

After announcing a Shadow of the Colossus remake at E3 earlier this year, Sony has outlined the PlayStation 4 Pro enhancements the game will receive.

While all players will receive the upgraded visuals evident in the Paris Games Week trailer (embedded below), those playing on PS4 Pro can expect 60 frames per second. Sony recently released a document stating that PS4 Pro owners could opt into 60 fps but at the cost of lower resolution (possibly lower than 1080p). The company previously mentioned that Shadow of the Colossus would play in 30fps on the PS4 and 4K 30fps on PS4 Pro.

After the release of the trailer, the PlayStation store began taking preorders for $39.99. Doing so will net customers an exclusive Shadow of the Colossus PSN Pre-Order Theme and the Life Sword (available at release).

Bluepoint Games is the studio that recreated Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on PS3, and it has returned to remake the latter game on PS4. The team is starting from the ground up with the rework, refusing to use anything from the prior release. Bluepoint Games is also known for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

Shadow of the Colossus will be released on February 6, 2018.
