Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith’s upcoming third person action RPG, seems like a very interesting take on Tolkein’s Middle-Earth. Placing you in the role of the Ranger Talion, players will stealth, stalk, and kill their way through Sauron’s armies on a quest for vengeance.

And, especially exciting for us here at OnlySP, Monolith have revealed that Shadow of Mordor will be a completely single player experience.

It seems like the game will not feature any locations in Middle-Earth other than Mordor, either, with the official Twitter account specifying that Mordor is the only setting.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is coming to PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime this year. We will be bringing you all the latest details on Shadow of Mordor when we get them, so make sure you keep your eyes on this space.

  1. This is smart, allows them to create Tolkien assets for a scaled single player experience that will allow them to reuse those assets in a future game that is more expanded.
