Samurai Shodown

Samurai Shodown‘s Western Q4 2019 release date has been pushed back to Q1 2020.

Japan’s launch for the title is still set for December 12, but publisher Athlon Games and developer SNK need more time before setting an exact release date in the West.

Samurai Shodown first launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 25, and a Stadia version is set to release in just a few hours on November 19. It is also set to receive a PC port, announced at the same time as the Switch version, but details on its release date have yet to surface.

SNK’s official website introduces the title as follows:

“Faithfully reproducing the game mechanics and atmosphere that contributed to the success of the series, Samurai Shodown includes a revolutionary feature that learns from players game actions and patterns in order to create CPU-controlled ‘ghost’ characters. With a story set one year before the very first installment, a diverse cast of returning and new characters cross paths in order to fulfill their destinies!”

The Switch version of Samurai Shodown will support both tabletop and handheld modes and is set to release in Q1 of next year.
