Ubisoft has just an issued a press event to be held on Feb. 27 in London, and there’s very strong reason to believe that the next Assassin’s Creed title will be unveiled there.

The above image is of an invitation for the event. You’ll notice that the logo for the fictional brotherhood of assassins from the games is present, indicating that the event will primarily or even completely focus on news relating to the series. The folks at gaming publication MCV received one of these invitations today, as stated in the following tweet:

MCV

We have a feeling Ubisoft wouldn’t organize such an event, complete with stylish invitations, if they weren’t about to announce something big. During the recent Ubisoft earning call, it was announced that another Assassin’s Creed game is on its way and set for a 2013 release, starring a new hero and featuring a brand new setting. In other words, we’re bound to here about another game sooner than later.

However, the details don’t stop there. Cram Gaming recently found out that the event will take place in a historically significant building that was subject to the great fire of 1666 as well as the bombing of Luftwaffe airplanes during WWII. What’s more, the building was home to a mysterious guild of tailors that started back in the 1300’s, and of which many members were known to be philanthropists and charity workers that didnt have any ties to tailoring of any sort. In the Assassin’s Creed universe, there’s the distinct creative possibility that some its members or even the entire guild could have been moonlighting as a branch of the assassin brotherhood. Knowing how long the guild was around, a WWII setting for this new game isn’t certain, but it is perhaps the most notable time period that they were active.

Stay tuned for more news and updates on this inevitable new chapter of the Assassin’s Creed saga. Don’t forget to also visit our forums to engage or start conversations with other single-players about this series.

  1. World War 2 would be a brilliant setting, in my opinion. Ever since the days of “Not another world war 2 game” I’ve kind of been longing for a return to the era.

  2. a WWII themed Assassin’s creed…..I want this to happen!
